The New Member Committee is dedicated to insure that each citizen is properly welcomed, listened to, and informed about the foundational principles and goals of We the People. It should quickly become apparent that we are simply concerned individuals, like themselves, who are intent on preserving and protecting this great American heritage to be passed on to future generations. We wish to confirm that while the blessings of freedom and liberty are held in one hand, the other holds the necessary responsibilities. We have responsibilities to our families, our friends, our communities and as citizens. Our goal is to strengthen and educate ourselves, support one another in our cause and reclaim those sound values and principles that made America the shining light of liberty around the world.
Local Government refers collectively to administrative authorities over areas that are smaller than a state. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people. The purpose of the local government committee is to help fulfill our civic responsibility and participate in the process of self-governance. We seek to promote the principles and values of the American founding by sharing our thoughts, ideas, and responsible solutions that have received proper study. With great respect for our republican form of government and the democratic processes utilized, we will hold our representatives accountable in a manner that honors all those who fought for our freedom to do so.
The purpose of the Education committee is to advocate for conservative constitutional values in public school cultures and curricula, to bolster the power and self sufficiency of the local school system, and to support parental rights in public education. This may be accomplished in part through curriculum and budget auditing, supporting teachers with “I Love America” libraries, and programs to educate parents concerning issues of parental rights.
The Legislation Committee has the potential to encompass a wide range of subjects including both State and Federal legislation as well as initiatives and referendums. It will focus its resources in those areas that promote conservative and constitutional principles and to work against policies which encroach upon freedoms and liberty. While Federal legislation is important, it is at the State level where we will have a greater and more direct impact. As a result, the Washington State Legislature when in session will receive top priority.
The purpose of the elections committee is to continue the work of the Candidate Vetting Process (CVP) Team of 2010 and further develop methodologies for communicating to the electorate the results of candidate analysis. The committee will mature the efforts so that the CVP will be able to implement the larger vision for CVP in the 2012 election cycle. The committee will evaluate the Constitutional Voter and Constitutional Candidate Certification program that will be offered by TJC to understand its purpose and viability for implementation as a tool for candidate vetting and voter analysis.
Events are a way to bring people together as we strengthen our community, share our beliefs, and engage in the political process. With these events, the committee wishes to inform and entertain members as we focus on education, statesmanship, and Constitutional healing.
